dark green, and attractive. It is called ‘pencil ped because its pods
are thin and straight like pencils. Grain Quality: Each pod contains an
average of 8 to 1 0 tender and sweet grains, which fetches a good
price in the market, Disease Resistance: GS-I O is tolerant to powdery
mildew, a major disease of pea crops. Plant Structure: Plants are
vigorous and produce a large number of lateral branches. Sowing
Time: Sowing can be done from the last week of September to mid-
November. For North India, early October is the best time to sow. Seed
Quantity: Approximately 30-40 kg of seeds are required per acre.
